Daycare at Kim's Canines has been the greatest thing for Emily Jane, my (currently) 12 week old beagle. She attends three times a week and comes home tired because her physical and mental needs are being met. Kim and her staff take into consideration her age and provide her with not only a safe, positive experience while playing with friends, but also much needed rest (as she IS still a baby and babies need to sleep!) as no dog is meant to go, go, go all the time! Kim always does what's best for the dogs and I know that when Emily is with her I can trust she is always being treated with kindness and respect. I recommend ANYONE that has a puppy to bring them to daycare, even if it's just once a week. The critical social skills and physical exercise they get will truly make for a healthier, happier dog!

Kim has been a gift to us that we have shared with our Australian Labradoodle. Lucy is a high energy dog, 18 months old, who needs friends and exercise. A trainer told us about Kim's Canines and we are so happy she did. Watching Kim with the dogs is so much fun. She is knowledgeable, loving and firm. She loves what she is doing and is committed to providing a good environment for all the dogs. Lucy loves going and is always happy to get there. We have been taking Lucy to Kim's for over a year and couldn't be more satisfied. At first I thought the drive would be a problem because we live in Clayton but it has been so worth the time. It gives Lucy a day to play and me a day to do whatever I want. Lucy is happier and so am I.

Kim's Canines - The Ultimate Place for Safe and Enjoyable Doggie Daycare! I have two dogs, a 7 year old 20 lb. Beagle, Rockie, and a 2 year old 30 lb. mixed breed, Pepper, that love to play. Unfortunately, there are times when I need to be gone during the day for extended amounts of time. Luckily, I found Kim's Canines to be an excellent solution to my problem. Kim and her staff treat my "kids" with the ultimate amount of love, respect, and caring that I require for my rescue dogs.
Everyone that works there understands how important my "kids" are to me and they live up to and exceed my expectations. Rockie has some special needs (food allergies and a past herniated disc) and they listen to my concerns and keep him safe while he plays with all the other dogs. The best part...when they come home they are happy, smiling, and exhausted! I know my money has been well spent on their socialization, exercise, and overall well-being. I highly recommend Kim's Canines to everyone! Thank you Kim!!!

I love taking my dog, Tux, to daycare at Kim's Canines. He is a six month old lab mix, and he can definitely tell when we are headed to daycare in the morning - he has a big doggie smile on his face, and is very eager to get into the car! We have been going to daycare at Kim's for about a month now. It is very fun for me to pick him up at the end of the day, his eyes are sparkling and I can tell he has had a ton of fun playing with the other dogs, all under Kim's careful watch and supervision. I really cannot say enough positive things about Kim's Canines. It makes me feel good as Tux's mom to know that I am fulfilling his needs by letting him exercise and socialize with other dogs while I am at work, all while having constant interaction with Kim and her trained staff. I feel like I have already learned a lot about dog behavior and positive training methods, and we have not even started classes yet! We are signed up for Life Skills at Kim's, and are very excited for class to begin.
If you would like a reference, please mention it to Kim, and she can put me in touch with you.

Hi. My name is Chevy and I am an 11 month old Golden Retriever. My parents are Jill and Joe Benne. I have been coming to daycare at Kim's Canines since I was 2 months old.
I just love it here - I play all day long with Kim and the other dogs. We get treats when we are really good. My Mom calls this place school and tells me that I am going to play with all the other puppies. I have met all kinds of new friends. I have play dates with Memphis, Abby, Kevin and Duke several days a week.
I get to take a nap everyday at daycare. We play so much that my Mom says naps are good for both of us! I love Kim's large fenced-in backyard so I can run and play without getting hurt.
My Mom says this is the best place ever! Kim also has classes here and I have been to Puppy Learn 'n Play and really liked it. My Mom said "we" got a lot out of the class. I think my Mom just wanted to go to "school" too.
Please feel free to contact my Mom or Dad with any questions. Kim can give you their phone numbers.
Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
--- Chevy (with Jill's help) - O'Fallon
"I contacted Kim Lutz by email after finding her name through the apdt website. Kim responded to my request for information within 24 hours. Several emails were sent between us, as Kim made certain she understood what I needed and wanted. Once I decided to give private lessons a try, Kim called me and we talked about my dogs and lifestyle in great detail. I was intimidated in trying to communicate what I felt I needed to a professional. However, she was excellent at listening, reassuring, and pinpointing areas that could be worked on within the time frame I had in mind.
When Kim came to my house, even my most timid rescue immediately responded to her. We worked on the targeted behaviors, exactly as Kim had agreed. It was fun, simple, and easy to continue, for my dogs and me, once Kim left. I was very skeptical as to how training would work without the stereotypical discipline. It worked extremely well. Kim was able to work with my dogs using a strictly positive approach; she did however need to work with me using gentle corrections. I would recommend Kim to someone struggling with unacceptable behaviors in an adult dog, someone who wants to train a puppy, or someone who has forgotten how to have positive, enjoyable, and intellectually stimulating time with their canine companions." --- Sheryl D. - Montgomery City
Just a note to say how very much we appreciate all your help with our Bandit. Since we adopted Bandit, we had never been able to get his attention for commands, without raising voices, which then could scare him. We had been told he had been to obedience classes, but we needed the training as to how to reach out to him. He was a very ‘needy’ dog; he needed constant reassurance that we weren’t going to return him. Since you spent time with us and showed us how to get Bandit to focus on our ‘commands’ he has become a different dog. He stays in the driveway when my husband is working in the garage, and wants to be close to his family. He comes when we call him, the very first time. He responds to all sit, stay, down commands, and is working hard on ‘wait’, but when going in the car is involved that is a very hard one for him. He has become a very loving, gentle dog, and that is saying something for a Husky-Akita mix. He pays special attention to our grandson Troy (age two and a half), and keeps close to him to watch over him when he is outside.
We would never have returned Bandit to the rescue group, since he had already been returned twice. But he has found his ‘forever home’ and we are so blessed to have your skill in reaching out to him, to make him such a wonderful, loving part of our family. We can’t thank you enough for making this such a positive experience for all of us.
With deep appreciation, --- Connie L. - St. Peters
Two separate canine professionals gave up on our 4 month old Schnoodle; both labeled the dog "overly aggressive" and "dominant." My family and I were very devastated by those statements and almost ready to give the dog away. When I called Kim, I immediately knew she could help us. Kim is truly a hero to us; she approached our dog with kindness, commitment and sensitivity and our dog loves her very much. We are so glad we called her; all the training has really paid off.
Thanks to Kim and her knowledge and philosophy to train a dog by positive reinforcement, we now have a well behaved dog." --- Claudia K. - St. Charles
